Refresh Your Summer with a Salted Caramel Macchiato Cold Brew

As the temperatures rise, there's nothing quite like a refreshing iced coffee to keep you cool and invigorated. Today, we're excited to share a delightful recipe that combines the rich, bold flavors of cold brew coffee with the sweet, buttery notes of salted caramel. This Salted Caramel Macchiato Cold Brew is sure to become your new favorite summer indulgence!

Why Cold Brew?

Cold brew coffee is not just a trend; it's a revolution in how we enjoy our daily caffeine fix. Unlike traditional iced coffee, cold brew is made by steeping coarse coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period. This process results in a smoother, less acidic brew that highlights the rich, complex flavors of the coffee beans. At Eastern Coffee Roasters, we believe in delivering the freshest, highest quality coffee, which is why our cold brew is always a top choice for coffee enthusiasts.

The Perfect Summer Drink

Our Salted Caramel Macchiato Cold Brew combines the deep, robust flavor of cold brew coffee with the creamy sweetness of salted caramel syrup. It's topped off with a luscious milk mixture, a dollop of whipped cream, and a drizzle of extra caramel for a truly decadent treat.

Ingredients:

  • Cold Brew Coffee:

  • 1 cup coarse coffee grounds

  • 4 cups cold, filtered water

  • Salted Caramel Syrup:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • Milk Mixture:

  • 1/2 cup milk (or milk alternative)

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Extra caramel drizzle

  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cold Brew Coffee:

  2. In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarse coffee grounds and cold, filtered water.

  3. Stir well, ensuring all the grounds are saturated with water.

  4. Cover and let it steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

  5. After steeping, strain the mixture through a coffee filter, fine mesh sieve, or cheesecloth into a clean container. Discard the grounds.

  6. Make the Salted Caramel Syrup:

  7. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.

  8. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook without stirring until the mixture turns a deep amber color.

  9. Remove from heat and carefully whisk in the heavy cream (the mixture will bubble up).

  10. Stir in the butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt until smooth.

  11. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then transfer to a jar or squeeze bottle.

  12. Prepare the Milk Mixture:

  13. In a small bowl, combine the milk and heavy cream. Stir until well mixed.

  14. Assemble the Drink:

  15. Fill a glass with ice cubes.

  16. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of salted caramel syrup over the ice.

  17. Add the cold brew coffee, filling the glass about three-quarters full.

  18. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cold brew.

  19. Top with whipped cream, an extra drizzle of salted caramel syrup, and a pinch of sea salt.

  20. Serve and Enjoy:

  21. Stir gently to combine the layers before drinking.

  22. Enjoy your refreshing Salted Caramel Macchiato Cold Brew!
